bullet  Marriage Notes:

[Berry and Allied Families.FTW]

Source of marriage: Genalogies of Kentucky Families A-M from the Regist er of hte Kentucky Historical Society, published in 1981 by Genealogical P ublishers, Inc.

From Russell Thompson:

6 September 1814 - James Grimes and Elizabeth Browning. Bondsma n: E. G. Browning, Teste: Josias B. Bullock, Consent of James Brownin g, father of Elizabeth Browning, attested by James Lovehard

From Thomas Whitehead:

James Grimes, Jr. m. (2nd) Francis Powell.

Information from Russell Thompson proves the marriage of James Grimes to E lizabeth Browning. (Confirmation of this marriage is also found in the I GI records.) However, the daughter, Lucretia Powell Grimes, would se em to indicate her mother was Francis Powell, as Thomas Whitehead report s. Her date of birth, however, indicates she is the daughter of Elizabe th Browning.
