"Jemima Grimes Trammell, daughter of Nicholas Grimes, Sr., of Fairfax a nd Loudon Co., VA, married Phillip Trammell of the same place. She marri ed before the death of her father. He gave her a very fine mare when s he married, and named her in his will. She and her husband died testa te at Shawneetown, IL. He was a U. S. Government agent in charge of the s alt mines in Saline Co., IL. They had lived in Georgia, then Christian Co ., KY before moving to IL. Their son, Nicholas Trammell was killed by Ind ians in Summer Co., TN and their grandson cut the road to Arkansas from Ke ntucky and from Arkansas to Texas." 2
