"corner to Mary Berry above named" - does this mean she owned her own piece of property on Otter Creek???
Again, the language is odd unless maybe she is the one coming into the office to do the transaction?
This deed also mentions "plat of T. J. Berrys trustee vs. T. J. Berry in Equity in Madison Circuit Court" - sounds like a court case... then later "case marked 162". Is Todd still a trustee in 1895?
Recall that when Thomas J Berry appointed Marion F. Todd (probably his brother in law) as his trustee in 1861, Berry specifically excluded "some personal property which belongs to my wife" - probably slaves and other things she brought to the marriage. But he did not say real property...
I'm guessing Frank Stuart to whom the sale was made is the son-in-law, married to Malone (or whatever her name was) in 1881.
