picture

bullet  General Notes:

This Berry line, from Bath County, VA., seems to be related to the Berry line of John C. Berry and Mary Grimes for two reasons:
1. the close DNA match of a Hamilton descendant, of the Bath County families, to descendants of John C. Berry and Mary Grimes, and to descendants of John Barry (of Ireland), and
2. the documented close association of Berry and Hamilton families in Bath County.

How does a Hamilton descendant have Berry/Barry DNA? That is only passed down from father to son, i.e., from a Berry to a Berry. Was there an adoption of a Berry male by a Hamilton family? If so, was the Berry a male of the closely associated Berry line of Bath County? If that is the case, then DNA linkage between Hamilton and John C Berry would include the Bath County Berry line. Or maybe a Berry/Barry change his name to Hamilton for some reason? Whatever the reason, there is a strong DNA link between the Hamilton line of Bath County and the John C. Berry line of Clark County, KY., and John Barry of County Limerick, Ireland.
