Know all men by these presents, that I
Nancy Berry of the County of Bath and State
of Virginia; for and in consideration of the
natural love and affection which I bear to
Jacob Berry, George Berry, Betsy Berry, and
Robert Berry, Infants; of the County and State
aforesaid. as well as for the further Consideration
of one dollar to me in hand paid by the said
Jacob Berry. George Berry. Betsey Berry. and
Robert Berry Infants. at or before the ensealing
and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is
hereby acknowledged, Have given and granted, and
by these presents do give and grant unto the said
Jacob Berry. George Berry. Betsey Berry and
Robert Berry Infants, their heirs, executors, adminstrators [sic]
and assigns; two Negro girls, whose names
are Rachel, and Daphne, to be equally divided
between said Jacob Berry, George Berry, Betsy Berry,
and Robert Berry, Infants, at that time when
Robert Berry shall have arrived to the age of
twenty one years. To have and to hold the said two
Negro girls, Rachel and Daphne, unto the said
Jacob Berry. George Berry. Betsy Berry, and Robert
Berry, Infants, their heirs, executors, administrators,
and assigns forever. And the said Nancy
Berry for herself, her heirs, executors, administrators,
the said two Negro girls, Rachel, and Daphne,
unto the said Jacob Berry. George Berry.

against the claim of her, the said Nancy Berry
her heirs, executors, and administrators, and
against the claim or claims, of all and every
person or persons whatsoever, shall and will
warrant and forever defend by these presents ___
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my
hand and seal, this Sixtenth [sic] day of May in the
year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and seventeen
